Compromise

Just spent the last 3 hours having a deep convo with my older cousin..To me, he’s like my older brother..Its been that way ever since I was a younger… He’s 10 years older than me, yet I clearly understood everything he said..You know, your parents tell you one thing, your friends tell you one thing but it’s completely different when you hear it from your older sibling..It stands out because you know for a fact that they’ve gone through what you’ve gone through..Especially if you witnessed it first hand..

So, we’re rapping and the more and more we talk, the more and more I understand..

At the end of the day, a good relationship will only last if it has these 5 characteristics : Honesty. Passion. Communication. Loyalty. Compromise. 

There has to be 100% commitment to staying true to those five things. Both individuals have to put aside their pride and ego inorder to successfully commit to those 5 characteristics.

Without Honesty, there is no Trust.

Without Passion, there is no Love. 

Without Communication there is no Understanding.

Without Loyalty there is no Commitment. 

Without Compromise there is no Partnership.

A relationship is a partnership. Together. Team. Work to make each other beter. Work to live better together. Work to build together.

Regardless of how deep your relationship is, there has to be a certain level of compromise..Only if you truly want that relationship to work..Regardless if you’re 1yr into the relationship, or even 10yrs into that relationship..There has to be compromise..Not everyone is the same, everyone doesn’t like the same thing. Everyone doesn’t think the same way..So therefore, when situations arise, pride has to be put aside and some compromising has to happen..Find some common ground, something that you both can agree upon.

Don’t run when things get tough. Don’t give up. Nothing ever works when you give up..

In conclusion, If you’re not willing to commit to those 5 characteristics, then you shouldn’t be in a relationship..Period..Either you’re about it or you’re not..No one can afford to waste time..
